Terms of service

Last updated 27 September 2026

These are the terms for using dotmap, the website audit and monitoring service at dotmap.ai, operated by Darthwares. By using dotmap.ai, you agree to them.

The terms in short

You may audit any public website you have the right to analyze. dotmap's scores and recommendations are automated estimates, not a promise of rankings, traffic or revenue. A shared report can be opened by anyone who has its link. Crawl responsibly, because a large crawl sends many requests to the site being audited. We may limit or suspend misuse, and the service is provided as available. The sections below are the full terms.

Using dotmap

dotmap provides automated website audits and related tools. You are responsible for the URLs you submit and must have the right to analyze them. Do not use the service to disrupt websites, bypass access controls, or violate applicable law.

Results

Audit scores and recommendations are automated estimates, not guarantees of search placement, traffic, revenue, or compliance. Review results before making decisions or publishing changes.

Crawling and submitted URLs

The service fetches publicly reachable pages within the limits you choose. A report describes the pages reached, and may list discovered URLs that were not fetched. Do not submit a site if you are not authorized to test it. The service is not a substitute for a security assessment, accessibility audit, legal review or a search engine's own indexing data.

Shared reports and monitoring

A report link can be opened by anyone who has that link. Review a report before sharing it, particularly if its URLs or content are sensitive. If you enable recurring monitoring, its alerts and comparisons are based on saved runs and may be delayed or incomplete when a site cannot be fetched. You remain responsible for reviewing the underlying pages and deciding whether to change them.

Accounts and availability

Keep your account access secure. We may limit abusive use or change the service as it develops. The service is provided as available, without a promise of uninterrupted operation.

Limits and fair use

Use the page limit and parallel-fetch settings responsibly. A larger crawl can send many requests to a target site; choose settings appropriate for that site and stop a run if it appears to cause trouble. We may apply limits or suspend misuse to protect dotmap and the websites it audits. An interrupted run may leave a partial report, so check its coverage before sharing or comparing scores.

No ranking promise

Search engines and answer engines make their own crawling, indexing and citation decisions. A higher dotmap score means that inspected pages better satisfy dotmap's published rubric; it does not buy placement or guarantee an increase in visits. For observed search clicks, use a search engine's performance tools. For conversions or revenue, use your own analytics or business records.

Who can see a report I share?
Anyone who has the report's link can open it. Review a report before you share it, particularly if its URLs or content are sensitive.
Can dotmap limit or suspend my use?

Is dotmap guaranteed to be available?
